Help us conduct a real-time count of all people experiencing homelessness in the Central MS CoC's service area: Copiah, Hinds, Madison, Rankin, and Warren counties! The PIT Count to be held on January 24-27, 2023 is dedicated to conducting surveys with the counties' most vulnerable, individuals and families experiencing homelessness, sleeping in vehicles, on the streets, or sleeping in other places not meant for habitation. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. At this time, we are recommending that all volunteers be up-to-date on all recommended vaccinations.
Gathering accurate data is key to ending homelessness in our community. The PIT Count relies on volunteer participation and provides required data that helps our CoC access needed Federal and State homeless services resources. Volunteers will canvass the streets of our 5-county service area for homeless individuals and families, and ask them to participate in a brief survey. Mandatory volunteer training is provided.
Donations are also being accepted for this event. You can learn more about participating in the 2023 PIT Count and how to donate by going to https://mailchi.mp/centralmscoc.org/2023_pit_count.
