Wear Orange Day is tomorrow! 🧡

Join us in wearing orange to honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been impacted by gun violence, and raise awareness about the need for safer communities.

Why orange? Orange was chosen because it symbolizes the value of human life and was inspired by friends of Hadiya Pendleton, a Chicago teenager whose life was tragically cut short by gun violence. They wore orange in her memory and sparked a movement that continues today.

Happy Pride Month!

Happy Pride Month to our sorors, partners, and friends!

Delta Sigma Theta has always stood for love, inclusion, and respecting the full dignity of every person. While we remain anchored in that legacy, we also acknowledge the need to continue to evolve with intention by championing affirming policies, and forging a culture where every member is seen, valued, and protected.

This Pride Month, we honor and celebrate the beautiful diversity and strength of the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to being allies in the fight for a better future where the freedom to love and exist in one's authentic identity is not contingent on the political climate. Especially when that freedom is being challenged, we choose to show up louder, love harder, and stand firmer in our commitment to justice for all.

Members of the Jackson (TN) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly joined other Divine Nine along with the Jackson TN Greek Alumni Council National Pan-Hellenic for a day filled with connection and community spirit. Events like these remind us of the strength that comes from fellowship and building lasting relationships across the Divine Nine.

The Jackson (TN) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly hosted the 2026 Madison County Mayoral Forum on May 16, 2026, bringing together community members for an afternoon of civic engagement, education, and meaningful dialogue. The forum featured current Mayor A.J. Massey and FrenCherry Miller as the mayoral candidates.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the candidates, community partners, and everyone who attended and participated in this important event held at The Historic First Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Community partners included the Jackson Madison County Branch of the NAACP, The Jackson Chapter of the National Action Network, the New Jackson Madison County Voters Council, and the Brown’s Creek District Association. We also thank our moderator, Rev. Curtis Morman, Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, for leading an informative and engaging discussion.

Special thanks are also extended to Dr. William Watson, Pastor of The Historic First Baptist Church, and his staff for their hospitality, support, and assistance in helping make this event a success.
Your presence reflected the power of informed citizens coming together to learn, listen, and support the democratic process.

As a chapter committed to public service and social action, we remain dedicated to empowering our communities through voter education, advocacy, and opportunities that encourage active civic participation.
