The Cornell Indonesian Association is happy to announce that it is endorsing Jaewon for Cornell Trustee for student trustee this election cycle. Jaewon Sim is currently serving as the Student Assembly’s VP of Internal Operations and has followed through on his campaign promise of providing a free printing quota for all Cornell students starting next semester. He also has a direct connection to us in that he graduated from JIS in 2017.

Hello everyone,

As some of you may know, Sulawesi in Indonesia has been hit by a magnitude 7.5 earthquake that then triggered a tsunami. People in the city of Palu, Donggala and Mamuju have been left ravaged, and there is no clear estimate of how many people are injured or dead because roads have been so heavily damaged and telecommunication lines have been cut.

Cornell Indonesia Association is collecting donations for the cause that will be directly donated towards disaster relief for the tsunami to Indonesia Red Cross (also known as Palang Merah Indonesia, PMI). The donation drive will last from this Saturday to 7th October. However, we will be making transactions as often as we can to get the money there as quickly as possible.

You are welcome to Venmo us any amount you'd like to the account, under the name Alice Soewito. She will personally comment on your transaction to confirm she has received it. Please label it as 'donation for Indonesia tsunami' so we can track and collate the numbers effectively.

Once the donations have been transferred, we will post them publicly to allow everyone be aware of the donation. Thank you and we would really appreciate your support! Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated.

I am running for the next student elected Trustee because I truly believe that Cornell CAN and SHOULD do more. I am looking forward to campaigning in the upcoming weeks not only to share my platform and initiatives but to also hear from students across campus regarding what they feel Cornell's priorities should be.
