We’re officially hosting art classes!

While we continue to work on our land and building, we’ve partnered with the Island Falls Opera House Inn & Lounge to host two art classes this summer.

Paint your own ceramic tile on August 16 and Printing on fabric on August 30. Both classes will be 1-3pm at The Opera House's Inn & Lounge. Space is limited to just 10 people per class, and some of the spots are already filling up. Register at the link below!

Hello friends, neighbors, and supporters. As you’ve seen on social media, we’ve been MIA since this Spring. Please know that we are still hard at work and planning to open, but have had to pause progress as we wait for the town of Island Falls to process the municipality’s zoning changes. Thank you to everyone who completed our survey - which proved that at least 347 people plan to visit our sculpture garden and take classes at the studio, 215 of which will be visitors traveling into our town to see all that Island Falls has to offer.

We’ll be sure to post updates as they arise, but for now we will continue to be quietly working behind the scenes. Here’s hoping that we’ll be able to enjoy art together at the studio in the not too distant future!

We need your help!

Bishop's Garden & Studio is a sculpture garden and art studio located in Island Falls, Maine. We plan to offer garden tours, art classes, and other cultural events to the community and visitors every summer. In May 2023, the town of Island Falls alerted us that our lot is not zoned for our intended use. But, we can formally request their permission to use the land for our intended purpose.

This is where we need your help: Click the link below and answer the four question survey to help us make the case that the planning board should approve our request.

We'll gather responses and bring those to the planning board meeting at the end of August to show the board how many people plan to come visit our town and make art with us at the studio.

So, please complete the survey and send it to all of your friends and family who you think would love to visit our gardens, make art with us, and hang out during events. If we succeed with getting approved to use the land as we hope to, we'll be able to bring classes and events to Island Falls ASAP.
