was developed in December of 2011 by Michelle Gill, as an organization geared toward giving back. This organization stands up for the poor and less fortunate children in the Essex County communities. The goal is to empower individuals in the community, to give back to the children so that they will have food, gifts, schooling equipment and clothing. About Michelle
Michelle was born in Georgetown,
Guyana and migrated to Antigua at the age of 8 where she lived for six years. She then returned to Guyana for one year and then migrated to the United States where she has lived from since the age of 14. Scott High School, East Orange, NJ then through the journey of life encountered college where she graduated with her Bachelors Degree at William Paterson University. Since then Michelle has furthered her education and has added a Master's degree in Human Services as well as a Post Master's College Teaching Certificate and is currently seeking her PhD in Human Services. As a child Michelle understood what being in poverty was about and she vowed that when she became an adult she would give back to the children in her community. Michelle has learned a lot about the less fortunate in her job life of working with the less fortunate community for the last 11 years which brought about Michelle's Foundation. Since its inception in 2011, Michelle's Foundation Inc. has held several back to school, prom, toy and food drives for the Essex County Community. Our next venture The 5th Annual Back to School Drive will be held on August 21, 2016 in Irvington, NJ.
