Dear Members,

On Tuesday, October 21st, representatives from the NAACP Irving Branch—Tony Grimes (President), Alicia Hinkle (Vice President), and myself, Shawnte Johnson (Secretary)—attended the Chase Community Conversation at 111 E Irving Blvd, Irving, TX 75060.

This event, hosted by Chase in collaboration with the One Chase Community Team, focused on addressing financial health challenges impacting our communities. The discussion highlighted the importance of collaboration, resource sharing, and strategic partnerships to help individuals, students and families, business owners, and entrepreneurs thrive financially.

We had the opportunity to share the mission of the NAACP Irving Branch and contribute to a meaningful dialogue around barriers to financial health and community empowerment. It was a powerful evening of connection, honesty, and solution-oriented discussion.

Following the event, Chase shared this note of appreciation:

“I wanted to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for joining and participating in the Chase Irving/Las Colinas Community Conversation on Tuesday evening. Your insights and real talk about the issues and barriers to financial health in our communities opened the door for a thoughtful and candid conversation. Over the next two weeks, we’ll review the feedback and key themes shared. I’ll follow up with an impact report, next steps, and community action plan outlining collaborative initiatives and solutions to address the challenges faced by individuals, students and families, business owners, and entrepreneurs.”

We’ll be sure to share any follow-up updates and collaborative opportunities once they’re available. Pictures from the event are included below to give you a glimpse of our engagement and participation.
