As the seasons shift, so do the trails.

Drying mud can turn into deep ruts which means terrain changes and conditions get less predictable.

What felt familiar last month might ride completely differently today.

Adjust your speed, watch your line, and stay alert to changing conditions.

If you do anything before you ride, make it these 4 checks:

1. Tires – pressure and condition
2. Controls – throttle, brakes, steering
3. Oil, coolant & drive belt – make sure everything’s in good working order
4. Check your fuel levels - you don't want to run out mid trail!

It takes minutes and can prevent serious issues on the trail.

ROHVA DriverCourses cover these essentials so you know exactly what to look for before every ride.

Riding with others isn’t just more fun: it’s safer.

Having another set of eyes on the trail means spotting obstacles earlier, choosing better lines, and helping guide you through more technical terrain.

ROHVA always recommends riding with others, especially in remote areas.

Because sometimes the difference between a smooth ride and a risky one is simply having someone there.

Want to keep trails open and rideable for years to come? Start here:

🌳 Stay on designated trails

🌳 Respect the terrain - don’t tear it up

🌳 Pack out what you bring in

ROHVA promotes responsible riding because access depends on it.

It's quite simple, really: no trails = no driving.

Sometimes the best choice is not driving through mud at all.

But if you have to, before you do...

✔ Slow your speed
✔ Use smooth throttle
✔ Keep balanced body position
✔ Know when conditions are beyond your skill level
