ANNOUNCING THE 2026 SEASON

This summer, Emberlight returns to the Historic Ironwood Theatre for the first time in three years as the festival expands across the Northwoods with major live performances, encore screenings from The Met: Live in HD series, five nights of the Emberlight International Film Festival, expanded Art in the Park installations, photography exhibitions and workshops, Performance Infusions, and artistic experiences throughout the region.

Festival highlights include:

✨ Something Wonderful starring Miles Mykkanen, Adam Rothenberg, and The Broadway Strings

🎬 Five nights of the Emberlight International Film Festival

🎭 The Met: Live in HD broadcasts and a special encore screening of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay presented with exclusive permission from the Metropolitan Opera

🎹 Poets & Arborists: Adam Rothenberg in Recital

🎨 Expanded Art For All community installations and student artwork

📸 Pathways in Photography workshops and the Emberlight Photographers Show

All Infusions start at 1pm and are free to attend inside Art in the Park (at the Miners Memorial Heritage Park). A limited number of chairs are available at the site; please consider bringing your own to enjoy the afternoon.

The Emby Express — our golf cart made possible by the Gogebic Range Health Foundation — will be available to transport patrons from the parking lot to the Infusion site.

Festival Moments 💫

A candid moment between Tom Biron and our Creative Producer, Cindy Franck, during the opening of last summer’s THE SEVENTH FIRE exhibit.

This might have been the moment inspiration struck these two visionaries, because shortly after closing last summer’s festival Tom & Cindy were already developing this summer’s Art For All School Project — which will debut on June 27, 2026 in the heart of Art in the Park featuring artwork developed in the local schools that will form multiple Ojibwe doodems throughout the installation.

Emberlight Festival’s 2026 season begins on Saturday, June 27 with the official opening of Art in the Park — and a special Opening Ceremony featuring Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company.

This year’s expanded Art in the Park exhibition includes two major Art For All community projects, including a large-scale installation created in partnership with regional students exploring Ojibwe doodems and cultural identity.

Join us at Miners Memorial Heritage Park as we celebrate creativity, community, and the opening of one of the Upper Midwest’s most distinctive outdoor art experiences.

Pathways in Photography 📸

After its debut season in 2025, we are pleased to announce an expansion to our popular Pathways in Photography classes!

This summer we will offer three classes focused in different photography techniques:
🍃 A NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY WALK - June 27
🎞️ BEYOND THE SNAPSHOT - June 27
🌌 SUPERIOR AT NIGHT - July 15

All of these classes are FREE and open to any experience level. The classes will be led by members of our professional Photography Team, and they are happy to work with phone cameras, DSLR, mirrorless, or whatever camera setup you have.
