13 bags of trash cleared from Lake Vesuvius today!

We had an awesome crew! We worked hard and still managed to have some fun along the way 🪨🌱

Keep an eye out for more upcoming events at Vesuvius. While the lake is drained, we want to make the most of this opportunity to significantly reduce the trash before it refills. Join us in giving some love to our favorite recreation area!🌳

This is a community event open to everyone! All supplies will be provided including trash grabbers, trash bags, bug spray, sunscreen and gloves. Long pants and close toe shoes are recommended🥾

Yesterday, we were able to clear all downed trees and limbs from the Hanging Rock OHV trail system! We want to thank Matt Bucher and the wonderful crew from the Ohio Off-Highway Motorcycle Association - OOHMA. These guys showed up and got it done!
We also want to thank each and every volunteer that took time out of their Saturday’s, to come out and work. These trails are ready for opening day!

We always try to make our work fun at Re-Wilding and boy did we have a good time yesterday! It’s always fun getting to work with like minded individuals, who share the same philosophy on conservation projects that we do. We’re excited to continue our year of projects with you all!🌲

We are very excited to announce that we are teaming up with the Ohio Off-Highway Motorcycle Association (O.O.H.M.A.) for a cleanup project at the Hanging Rock Recreational Area. This event will take place on March 21st @ 9:00AM.

The main goal of this specific project, is going to be focused on trimming/pruning of trees and limbs. Clearing brush. Litter pickup and basic maintenance of the OHV trails that Wayne National Forest has to offer!

Anyone is welcome to come out and volunteer, but we strongly encourage local riders and community members to show up and make a difference in your home town. Not only are we giving back to the area that we love so much, we are also aiming to make new connections that will last!

Hello Re-Wilding friends, it’s been awhile!🌲

After a long, cold winter, we kicked off the season with our first project of the year! Today, we worked with the U.S. Forest Service - Wayne National Forest (Ironton Ranger Station) on a handful of “fish cribs” at Lake Vesuvius in Pedro, Ohio!

As you can see, it’s still very cold and still very much winter! But that doesn’t stop us!❄️🥶

With that being said, we are looking at a very busy season of projects throughout the area, including the Hanging Rock Recreational Area!

Just like last year, we encourage everybody to come out and make a difference in the forests that we all love. No matter the project size, your volunteer efforts will never go unnoticed!💚
