The Ironton Metropolitan Housing Authority (IMHA) has been recognized for its outstanding financial stewardship by receiving the prestigious Ohio Auditor of State Award for the fiscal year ending 2025. The award was presented to Executive Director, Katherine Jones and Director of Finance, Sarah Long, by Mr. Cameron Lowery, on behalf of Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber.

The Ohio Auditor of State Award is presented to government entities that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting by preparing accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), maintaining strong internal controls, and complying with all applicable state laws and regulations.

The award reflects IMHA's commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible management of public funds while serving the residents of Lawerence County.

Mr. Lowery commended the agency for its commitment to sound financial practices and noted that achieving the Auditor of State Award is an accomplishment earned by only a select number of public entities each year. The award signifies that the agency's financial reporting meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and accountability.

IMHA would like to thank all volunteers and organizations that came together for this years National Night Out. What a difference our county can make when we can all come together to serve!

National Night Out is meant to strengthen bonds and trust between local police officers, emergency personnel, and the community we serve. I think recognition is in place for the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office and the Ironton Fire Department for being present and interacting with the children and families in attendance.

We are honored to share this event with the Ironton community and so many other agencies that care about local collaboration! Please join us tomorrow, August 4, 2026 from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM.

Community members, families and children can take part in National Night Out with their local law enforcement and community organizations on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
