9/15 ICPD shot and killed a man named Allen. He was someone we interacted with regularly at camp. We and his loved ones miss him dearly and carry so much grief that he was killed in this way. The Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting and has released Allen’s name but not the names of the cops who executed him. City Council has the authority to release the body camera footage, which some council members have already reviewed. The footage has not yet been released.

The brief “Cop watch” column in this issue talks more about Allen’s murder as well as some other terrible things the local cops have done lately. Also in this issue:

as colder nights are headed towards us and campers asking, we will need to start distributing propane soon! we have a goal of raising $10,000 to be able to support our efforts to keep people alive while living outside through the winter by providing the supplies necessary for winter survival.

what a joyous celebration we had. a bright future awaits us, and our kids, if we work towards building it. thank you to everyone who showed up for us yesterday! we were able to raise $1869 which will go towards keeping our neighbors alive. we don’t need to be rich to redistribute our wealth towards those who need it the most. ❤️
