The Iowa City Golf Association is excited to share a major step forward for our organization—the launch of our new Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation of Johnson County.
This fund is all about the future. By creating a permanent source of support, the Endowment will provide steady, long-term funding for our programs and initiatives, helping ensure we can continue making an impact in Johnson County.
It also opens the door for members and supporters to be part of something long-lasting. Gifts to the Endowment aren’t just contributions, they’re a permanent investment in the future of the Iowa City Golf Association and the Ed and Sue Schmucker Scholarships. Since 2004, the ICGA has awarded more than $65,000 in scholarships to local student athletes to assist them in their academic endeavors.
There are real benefits for donors, too. On federal taxes, a contribution counts as a Qualified Charitable Contribution (QCD). On state taxes, Iowa Endowment Tax Credits offers a 25% state tax credit. To qualify, donors must be Iowa residents and give to a qualified endowment fund held at a community foundation—like ours. This program was designed to encourage long-term charitable giving and help nonprofits build sustainable funding for the future of Iowa.
Beyond the tax advantages, giving to the Endowment means your support continues working over time, generating impact year after year.

Thank you for being part of this next chapter.
Together, we’re building something that lasts.
See you on the course!
