Simpson College Interfaith

RLC Interfaith is a program designed to educate students on other belief traditions, create community and support students with their practices.

The RLC Interfaith program offers students the chance to learn about various faith communities through educational and experiential opportunities. The program hosts many speakers on campus throughout the year and takes students to interesting events, like the Diwali Festival at the Hindu Temple in Madrid, Iowa and the celebration of Rosh Hashanah at a Synagogue in Des Moines. Striving to create an environment of religious understanding and involvement on the Simpson Campus and in the greater world community. Within the Interfaith expression, we seek to:

- Help people become faithful in their own tradition and respect those traditions
- Educate ourselves and others on the beliefs and practices of the world’s religious traditions, addressing current issues and combating ignorance in our community
- Understand and appreciate the various religious traditions in the world through word, deed and genuine relationships
- Value all religious traditions, opinions, gifts and preferences; providing opportunities for growth and fulfillment whenever possible
- Create relationships with the variety of religious communities found in our world
