For Epsilon Theatrical Company's production of Tuesdays with Morrie, I wore a few different hats: stage manager, graphic designer, and playbill designer. Being trusted to help tell this story from both backstage and through design was an incredible experience.

I'm especially grateful that the production partnered with ALS United Indiana to help bring greater awareness to ALS while sharing Morrie's story.

It's projects like these that remind me why I love working in theatre 🎭❤️

This Pride Month, we celebrate artists, storytellers, technicians, volunteers, and audiences who help make our theatre communities vibrant, creative and welcoming.

Together, we can continue to build stages where everyone belongs.

Happy Pride Month from Beyond Theatre Collective 🌈🎭

A new chapter begins ✨

After several years away, this page is getting a fresh start.

Jenn & Tonic Life is now Jenn Byers.

Over the years, my career has grown beyond lifestyle blogging. Today, I'm a writer, digital marketer, theatre professional, and entrepreneur. This page will become one place to follow everything I'm creating, from marketing and community theatre to creative projects and behind-the-scenes moments.

I'm also proud to be the founder of Byers and Beyond Marketing
and Beyond Theatre Collective, building resources and services as a woman-led, disability-owned freelancer.

Whether you've been here since the beginning or you're just joining me, thank you for being part of this next chapter. I'm excited to share what's ahead.

June is "Migraine & Headache Awareness Month", and it's a reminder that not every disability is visible 🤕

For years, I believed success meant pushing through the pain. I ignored migraines, chronic illness, and burnout because I thought that's what dedicated professionals were supposed to do. Looking back, I wasn't thriving—I was surviving.

Choosing to freelance didn't magically cure my migraines or chronic health conditions, but it gave me something I hadn't had in a long time: control.

- Control over my schedule.
- Control over my workload.
- Control over when I needed to rest instead of trying to power through the pain.

If you've ever wondered why someone with migraines advocates so strongly for flexibility, accommodations, or work-life balance, this is why.

I shared more of my journey with The Graceful Boon blog with my post: "From Burnout to Control: How Freelancing Improved My Health and Career" (link in comments)

Whether you live with migraines, another chronic illness, or you're simply feeling burned out, I hope it reminds you that taking care of yourself isn't giving up; it's choosing a sustainable future 🌻

Juneteenth is a day to remember, reflect, and honor the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equity, and justice.

Theatre has the power to tell stories, amplify voices, and create spaces where everyone feels seen and valued. Building a truly inclusive theatre community takes intention—from the stories we choose to produce to the way we welcome artists, volunteers, and audiences.

Today is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on how we can continue making our theatres more inclusive, equitable, and accessible for all.

The choreopoem is not merely a relic of the 1970s Black Arts Movement; it is a living, breathing apparatus for liberation. There are stories language alone cannot hold; stories carried in breath, rhythm, and the body's memory that are best conveyed in the choreopoem.

Learn from Bryan-Keyth Wilson how the choreopoem reshapes storytelling through dance and poetry, voicing the struggles and triumphs of marginalized cultures (link in comments).
