Forensic anthropology and decomposition research have helped investigators solve countless cold cases by improving estimates of:
• time of death
• movement of remains
• and crime scene timelines

Facilities known as “body farms” allow researchers to study how real-life conditions impact decomposition, helping investigators better understand what happened to victims and when.

🕯 Even decades later, science can still uncover the truth.

She was heard screaming around 3:30 AM…
Then a car sped away into the night.

Janet Shirar was bold, outspoken, and deeply devoted to her students. She was the kind of person who showed up for others—someone who cared enough to tell you the truth.

On Memorial Day weekend in 1980, Janet was brutally murdered inside her apartment.

There was no forced entry.
No robbery.
No sign of a stranger.

Investigators have long believed Janet knew her killer.

A female friend who was with her that night became a person of interest—but no charges were ever filed.

Last known tip: 1999
Still unsolved

Someone knows what happened to Janet Shirar.

If you have any information, no matter how small, please come forward.

It has now been over four months since 15-year-old Carrington Bohannon disappeared from Indianapolis.

She is still missing.

In December, this case was shared more than 90 times. That kind of community attention matters — but awareness fades when posts stop circulating.

Carrington was last seen on the Northeast side of Indianapolis. Her family believes she may be staying with someone, possibly an adult.

If you have any information — no matter how small — please contact IMPD at (317) 327-3811.

Please share again. Every share keeps her face visible. Every detail counts.

COLD CASE SPOTLIGHT – FRANKLIN, INDIANA

In July 2006, Chynna Dickus and her step-son Blake Dickus were found murdered in their Franklin, Indiana home.

The case remains unsolved.

Investigators believe the double homicide may be connected to a series of daytime burglaries that occurred in nearby neighborhoods between 2006 and 2007. Entry methods and items taken showed similarities, but no arrests have been made.

A $25,000 reward remains available for information leading to an arrest.

If you lived in the area during that time, experienced a break-in, or remember something unusual — even a small detail — it may matter.

If you have information, contact the Franklin Police Department. Anonymous tips are accepted.

This spotlight is based on publicly available information. If the family would like anything updated or added, I’m always open to that.

Please share to help keep this case visible.
