I occasionally catch myself thinking—just for a moment—that maybe I’m not as good a mom as everyone else; perhaps I’m not as dedicated or determined. But when I think back on my motherhood story, the reality is that choosing not to nurse my babies brought a great deal of peace to those early newborn days.

I felt low when I was by myself, and not with my kids with me making summer memories. Age five has brought with it many challenges. The toddler years meant we were dealing with a child who would throw tantrums over things that didn’t make sense. Now, she understands things much better. She wants to do things HER way.

Out of all the things V learned in school that day, she’s most excited to tell me about this fact. She and her friends love to talk about their favorite colors.There’s a sweetness about my five-year-old little girl that I want to remember.

Recently, my kids have reached an age where our typical go-to Disney and Netflix cartoon movies aren’t hitting the same. My husband and I started thinking back to our childhoods, what movies we were watching from ages 7+, as we slowly moved away from watching the cartoon classics.
