As we celebrate our final member of the KVF Scholars Class of 2026, we are proud to recognize a student whose compassion, determination, and commitment to serving others exemplify the values of our scholarship program.

It has been an honor highlighting this year's outstanding recipients, and today we are excited to introduce our final scholar.

Congratulations to Jazlene Oliveras, recipient of the 2026 Leah and Edward Kline Memorial Scholarship! πŸŽ‰

Jazlene graduated from Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NWCTA) and has demonstrated perseverance, compassion, and a strong commitment to helping others throughout her academic journey.

As the daughter of an active-duty service member, she has grown up with a firsthand understanding of sacrifice, resilience, and service to others, qualities that have helped shape her character and future aspirations.

This fall, Jazlene will begin her college journey in San Antonio, Texas, where she plans to study Social Work and pursue her goal of becoming a therapist. She is passionate about supporting others through life's challenges and hopes to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.

In addition to her academic achievements, Jazlene has been involved in extracurricular activities, participated in the Student Organization of Latinos (SOL), and earned her Girl Scout Gold Award, demonstrating her dedication to leadership, service, and community involvement.

Jazlene's compassion, determination, and commitment to helping others embody the spirit of the Leah and Edward Kline Memorial Scholarship, and we are honored to support her as she begins this exciting next chapter.

Trying to build a better future should not come at the cost of losing your home.

Cedric, a 32-year-old single father of two and disabled veteran, fell behind on rent while working hard to complete an IT program that would help create long-term stability for his family.

Thanks to supporters like you, Kline Veterans Fund was able to provide rental assistance through Homes for the Brave, helping Cedric and his children remain safely housed while he continued working toward a better future.

Today, we are proud to recognize another outstanding member of the KVF Scholars Class of 2026.

Through our scholarship program, we are honored to support students from veteran and military families as they pursue their educational goals and prepare to make a positive impact in their communities.

Congratulations to Selin Petrucci, recipient of the 2026 Sal Friedlander Memorial Scholarship! πŸŽ‰

Selin graduated from Durango High School with a 4.0 weighted GPA and has demonstrated remarkable perseverance throughout her academic journey.

As the daughter of a veteran and a first-generation college student, Selin has remained focused on her educational goals while supporting her family through her father's ongoing health challenges. Despite these obstacles, she has continued to excel academically and pursue her dreams with determination.

This fall, Selin plans to pursue studies in neuroscience and pre-med with the goal of becoming a pediatric psychiatrist. She hopes to dedicate her future career to helping children and families through compassionate healthcare and advocacy.

Today, we are proud to recognize the recipient of the Dan Peterson Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of our dear friend Daniel Peterson.

Dan was a decorated Army aviator and Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 730. His dedication to serving others, supporting fellow veterans, and strengthening our community left a lasting impact that continues to inspire us today.

Sean graduated from Northeast Career and Technical Academy (NECTA) with an outstanding 4.906 weighted GPA while balancing academics, varsity basketball, and community involvement throughout high school.

As a first-generation college student and the dependent of a retired veteran, Sean has demonstrated exceptional determination, leadership, and commitment to excellence. He plans to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant, where he hopes to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We are proud to recognize another outstanding KVF Scholar from the Class of 2026.

These remarkable students have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to their communities while representing the legacy of the veterans who have inspired them.

Shane Barrow has been awarded the Robert G. Dixon Memorial Scholarship. πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“

Shane graduated from Boulder City High School with an outstanding 4.95 weighted GPA while excelling academically and participating in athletics and extracurricular activities throughout high school.

As the dependent of a retired veteran, Shane has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and personal growth.

This fall, Shane plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, where he hopes to combine innovation, creativity, and problem-solving to make a meaningful impact through his future career.

In addition to his academic achievements, Shane participated in varsity athletics, music, community service, Boy Scouts, and the National Honor Society, showcasing his dedication both inside and outside the classroom.

It's Scholarship Week at the Kline Veterans Fund! πŸŽ“

We received many outstanding applications from exceptional students across Southern Nevada, each one a dependent of a local veteran.

Today, we are proud to announce the first of our five KVF Scholars of the Class of 2026.

We celebrate each student's hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments and look forward to following their academic and professional journey.

With the support of our generous donors, KVF is helping ensure that deserving students have the opportunity to pursue higher education and achieve their goals.

Jocelyn Ayson has been awarded the Steve Seiden Memorial Scholarship. πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“

Jocelyn graduated from Sierra Vista High School with an impressive 4.74 weighted GPA while balancing academics, athletics, and extensive community involvement.

A first-generation college student and proud dependent of a veteran, Jocelyn has demonstrated a strong commitment to service, completing more than 300 volunteer hours and participating in varsity athletics throughout all four years of high school.

This fall, Jocelyn will attend Penn State University to pursue a degree in Nursing with the goal of becoming an ICU Nurse, dedicating her future career to caring for others during some of life's most critical moments.
