The journey begins - there is still time.
We begin this journey of real/tangible community development for the local people and intense protection/preservation for the remarkable wildlife and forests of the Itombwe of the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. We are an American Not-for-Profit (NGO) Corporation based in Indiana, organized by a founding board comprised of people who love the DRCongo and who have given their lives over many years (since 1964) to improve the quality of life for the people of Eastern Congo. Through many challenges and times of great uncertainty our hearts have remained connected and engaged. For more about us, read our “Backstory” on our website. We are people of integrity and the journey of Itombwe Conservation, Inc. is very real and may well prove to be an inspirational and unfolding model of enduring impact and result-based community development and wildlife/forest conservation.
Join with us. Help write, share and tell our story. Help fund our efforts. Convey to us your perspective and ideas. Celebrate our successes. Help carry the disappointments of good intentions that didn’t work out as we planned - pushing us forward to find a better way. We need every bit of help we can get.
