We’re thrilled to welcome Shannon Killion to the White River Alliance Team! Shannon brings more than a decade of experience as an engineering strategist and senior leader. Her work has spanned both private and public sectors, partnering with local, state, and federal leaders to advance critical water and infrastructure initiatives.

She grew up in central Nebraska, spending summer weekends at the lake or river with family and friends, instilling a love for nature and the outdoors. Before joining the White River Alliance, Shannon spent over 8 years as an engineering consultant, helping communities meet their stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater needs. Most recently, she worked as the Stormwater Administrator for the City of Indianapolis, overseeing the stormwater capital program, individual Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) permit, high-hazard dams, miles of levees, urban forestry, and land stewardship teams.

Shannon will be leading outreach within the community for our recently awarded Environmental Equity Grant from the Indianapolis Foundation.

The “4 R’s” of fertilizer application: Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, and Right Place help keep your lawn healthy while protecting our waterways 🌱 Applying the correct type and amount of fertilizer at the right time, and in the right location, reduces runoff and prevents excess nutrients from entering streams and lakes. Small changes in how you fertilize can make a big difference for water quality and aquatic life.
