Building the Builders of Tomorrow

Today, the Indiana Chapter - American Concrete Institute partnered with Work IN Roads for another outstanding Concrete Sandbox Day, but this one was especially meaningful because the participants were the educators who help shape the future workforce.

By providing hands on concrete experiences and direct access to industry professionals, we are equipping teachers with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to introduce students to the rewarding careers available in the skilled trades. From placing and finishing concrete to learning about career pathways, certifications, and industry opportunities, today’s event connected education with real-world experiences.

The future of our industry depends on strong partnerships between schools and industry leaders. When teachers understand the opportunities available in construction, they become powerful advocates for students who may thrive in a hands-on learning environment and build successful, fulfilling careers in the trades.

A special thank you to all of the educators who invested their time today, as well as the volunteers, industry partners, and supporters who continue to make these programs possible. Together, we are building a stronger workforce, creating opportunities for the next generation, and showing students that the trades offer more than just a job—they offer a career, a purpose, and a chance to leave a lasting impact on the world around them.

One concrete slab at a time, we’re building pathways to success for Indiana’s future workforce.
