Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The Alpha Sigma Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is located in the founding city of our sorority. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

represents a collection of women bound in effort toward our Sorority motto of "Greater Service, Greater Progress." Part of the Central Region of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., the chapter boasts of an important role in the history of the organization. We aim to provide community outreach services that align with the values of our seven illustrious founders. Continually striving to be a beacon of

light in the Indianapolis community and beyond, members of Alpha Sigma embrace education of youth, social advancement of all, and leadership development. was founded November 12, 1922 by seven educators on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. The organization is comprised of over 90,000 women in more than 500 chapters across the United States, Canada, Bermuda, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Germany, and Korea. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society, with the aim to enhance the quality of life within the community.

Saturday, May 30, noon-2 p.m. EST members of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus will kick off their annual interim town hall tour with an event at the Julia M. Carson Government Center. The town hall will focus on bills that were heard during the 2026 session of the Indiana General Assembly and local concerns. Guests will also have a chance to ask questions of the IBLC members. The town hall series will include eight events throughout the state, all free and open to the public.

The 2026 Town Hall Series starts this month.

The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is so proud of the Swim 1922 events we hosted this week in Indianapolis. Our mission to provide life-saving water safety skills and drowning prevention education reached so many families across the city.
