📢 Friendly Reminder: January Meeting Notice!

Join the South County Community Coalition (SCCC) for its monthly meeting this Monday evening. This is a session you will not want to miss.

🗓 WHEN: Monday, January 19
⏰ TIME: 6:00 p.m.
📍 WHERE: LaCrosse Town Hall, 13 North Washington Street, LaCrosse

Agenda Highlights:

Legislative Update: They will discuss township bills currently before the Indiana General Assembly that could have an adverse impact on our South County townships.

Election Filing Opportunity: SCC will discuss this year's elections and provide paperwork and a notary for those interested in running for election or re-election in our South County Townships. This is a great chance to file without making a trip to the courthouse.

Community Revitalization: The meeting will feature a presentation from the LaCrosse Community Schoolhouse group regarding plans to bring the LaCrosse School back to life as a vibrant community resource.

Everyone is invited. You do not need to be a member of SCCC in order to attend the meeting.

We are excited to anounce that the Tri Township school board has decided to work towards transferring the former LaCrosse High School to Community Schoolhouse Inc. The non profit was formed to transform the building into a center of community services for South Laporte county, and surrounding areas.

We will be announcing fundraising efforts for maintenance and repairs of the building. Those interested in volunteering to be a part of this great project please message us.

Members of the CSI board have held several productive meetings with the new Superintendent, Pamela Moore, as well as with school board members. We are actively working toward acquiring the former school building, with plans to transform it into a community center that will serve LaCrosse and the surrounding areas.

The Community Schoolhouse was formed in November 2023. Our goal is to acquire the former LaCrosse High School, and transform it into a community center. We have submitted a proposal to the Tri-Township school board and are currently waiting on a response. Follow our page for updates.
