We realized today we never gave you guys an update on one of our patients from this year. Thanks to donations from you all we were able to help this little one with the veterinary surgery she required! We affectionately have called her “eyebol” since her arrival. Well, happy news she is all healed and doing fantastically!

Turtles are remarkable and resilient and having one eye does not always deem them non-releasable and in her case, she is meeting all the benchmarks for a successful release! We are so proud of her! Her shell injuries also healed remarkably and you can barely tell where they were! We love a happy turtle story.

Also a huge thank you to the wonderful vet Dr. Sonia Borrell whom completed the enucleation! Her healing could not have gone better! If you are looking for an exotics vet in the area, Sun Valley Animal Hospital is an excellent choice!

We raised all but around $100 of her bill with her first donation post. If you’re able to donate even $5 it will help us pay her balance and help future turtles just like Eyebol.

We sure do appreciate how helpful these southern tortoises are with directions. We woulda never found that river without ‘em.
