Adopt-A-Family & Christmas in July We are always accepting donors!

We are an organization, located in Independence, that helps families provide new clothes to their kids for the upcoming school year (Christmas in July) and valuable gifts around the holidays (Adopt-A-Family).

🎁 Children must be enrolled in Independence schools. This includes public and private schools.

🎁 Applications are available at the Community Access Center.

🎁 The completed application must be returned to the Community Access Center no later than July 1st. We will not accept late applications.

🎁 We will notify you about your adoption status, so please fill out “Best Way to Contact You”.

🎁 Pick-up will be on July 31st from 12 PM to 6 PM at Independence First Church of the Nazarene (3835 CR 3900).

Dear Christmas in July and Adopt-a-Family Supporter,

The start of a new school year is an exciting time for many students. But for those without access to new clothes and school supplies, it can bring anxiety and stress — not anticipation. This lack of resources can lead to lower confidence, higher absenteeism, and missed learning opportunities.

Every student deserves to start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

Thanks to your past support, our Christmas in July and Adopt-a-Family programs have helped hundreds of children in our community feel ready and excited for the first day of school. We’re reaching out again this year in hopes you’ll join us in supporting even more families in need.

🎄 Adopt a Family Program – 2025 🎄
We’re getting close… but we still have a few amazing families who need to be adopted this year!

We currently have families ranging from two kiddos all the way up to seven, and we’re looking for a few more generous sponsors to help make their Christmas extra special. 🎁❤️

If you’re someone who would love to adopt a family—and you’re able to bring gifts to the Civic Center by December 15th, or arrange an earlier drop-off with us—we’d be thrilled to get you matched and send you all the details.

Prefer to help but short on time? You can also sponsor a family and let our team do the shopping for you! We’re happy to take care of everything.

Community Crisis Team is gearing up for the 39th annual Adopt-A-Family!! Applications have gone out and can be picked up at the Community Access Center until November 21st.

We are in need of individuals and businesses to help us get all of the families adopted. Last year we adopted 116 families to provide gifts, food and more for the Christmas season.

The donations are already coming in with a special shoutout to Jeff and Lori Shaw, George Realtors, Inc presenting Kathy Raub with a check for our first business sponsorship!

We are excited for to share the holiday spirit with the community once again and hope you can be a part of it as well.
