Invitations for acceptance in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society went out to eligible Imperial Valley College students via email April 6th, 2026. PTK is an International Honor Society that serves to recognize and encourage academic achievement for two-year college students and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. To be eligible for admission students must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average and must be currently enrolled at Imperial Valley College. Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society invitations go out today. Hello Imperial Valley College Honors Students. Imperial Valley College participates in the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society program. The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service. Phi Theta Kappa is taken from the initial letters of three Greek words meaning: wisdom, aspiration, and purity. IVC students who have earned a minimum of 12 units and hold a 3.5 GPA will receive an invitation to join. The membership fee is $70.00. As a PTK member, students will be presented with a PTK stole or medallion to wear at graduation and are eligible to apply for PTK scholarships. I am IVC’s advisor for our chapter.
