MUST WATCH 🎥 Alliance to End Gun Violence president Therese Hymer discusses our NEW billboard and the importance of Safe Storage.

“Over 75% of shootings that are tied to schools are guns that come from households where they’re unsecured. We know from studies that as many as 45-46% of kids live in homes with unsecured guns, and children know where their parents hide their guns. It’s a critically important time to make the message.”

NBC7 also covered how San Diego Police Department said the mother of one of the teen suspects (in the Islamic Center of San Diego shooting) reported several of her guns missing the morning of the shooting.

POLICY MATTERS ➡️ LIVES DEPEND ON LAWS

New reporting from KPBS explores how California’s gun laws may have prevented further death at the Islamic Center of San Diego earlier this month.

Here’s what we know:
- Stronger gun laws CAN REDUCE the deadliness of attacks and save lives when seconds matter. WHY? ⬇️
- The perpetrators of the ICSD shooting had California regulated fi****ms, meaning they were prevented from using fi****ms that reloaded faster. Slower reloading creates CRITICAL moments for people to escape, intervene, or seek safety
