🎉 THIS SUNDAY — Join Us as We Celebrate Christopher’s 20th Birthday 🎉

We invite you to join us this Sunday as we honor and celebrate Christopher’s life on what would have been his 20th birthday weekend.

Your support and generosity allow us to continue keeping Christopher’s memory alive while reaching hundreds of teens each year with messages of hope, connection, and mental health awareness. Together, we encourage young people to care for their mental well-being, seek support during difficult times, and know that they are never alone.

Thank you for helping us turn Christopher’s legacy into a source of hope for others. We look forward to celebrating with you this weekend. 💙

Happy birthday to our forever 15 angel. Today, we spent the day with your brother and sisters getting ready for your big 20th birthday bash on Sunday. While you may no longer be here, we will forever celebrate you and the light and love you continue to bring into our lives and the lives of so many. Fly high, sweet prince.

Did you know…June is Men's Mental Health Month?

Too often, men carry their struggles in silence. They're taught to be strong, push through, and keep their feelings to themselves—even when they're hurting.

Too many people suffer quietly because they're afraid of being judged, and too often, when tragedy strikes, we hear, "I wish they had spoken up."

We live in a society that still stigmatizes mental health while mourning su***de.

Let's change the narrative. Let's create a world where asking for help is seen as strength, not weakness. đź’™

Sometimes the tears need to come.

Crying isn't a sign that something is wrong—it's often a healthy way to release stress, anxiety, and emotions we've been carrying for too long.

Give yourself permission to pause, feel, and heal. And it's okay to ask the people around you to give you the space you need to do so.

You don't have to be strong every minute of every day. Surround yourself with people who love you enough to slow down, set aside their own expectations, and give you the grace to heal in your own way. The people who truly care won't walk away simply because your healing isn't easy. đź’™

If you're struggling, give yourself permission to rest for a while.

When you're ready, take one step forward. Just one.

Soon, you may find the courage and strength to take a second step, and then a third. But there is no race and no timeline you need to follow.

Healing, growth, and moving forward happen in their own time. Trust yourself. Be patient with yourself. The steps will come when you're ready.

For now, one step is enough. đź’™

The Christopher Newtown Memorial Fund is proud to be partnering with Herkimer BOCES to bring Duncan Kirkwood to schools throughout Herkimer County this fall.

As students return to school, we believe there is no better time to invest in their mental health, well-being, and sense of connection. Duncan's visit is being planned to help students start the school year on a positive note, equipped with tools to navigate challenges, support one another, and recognize their own value.

Duncan Kirkwood is an internationally recognized speaker, mental health advocate, and su***de prevention educator known for his powerful storytelling and ability to connect with young people. His presentations inspire students to build resilience, seek help when needed, strengthen peer relationships, and understand that hope is always available—even during difficult times.

We are excited to share that many schools have already committed to participating, and we are working to secure a few more partners so we can reach as many students as possible across the county.

By bringing schools together around a shared message of hope, belonging, and support, we can help create a stronger, healthier start to the school year for hundreds of students.

We are grateful to Herkimer BOCES and the participating districts for recognizing the importance of student mental health and helping make this opportunity possible.

💙 Together, we can make a difference—one conversation, one student, and one school at a time.
