Last week it was a joy to present Daxton with his very own AmTryke. His mom Alicia was in attendance and member Pat Fallon introduced the connection that was made for Daxton through Bank of the Plains were Pat and Alisha both work.

It’s the summer of independence with Hutchinson Ambucs as we present our third Amtryke in as many weeks!

The best days for Ambucs are when we give away an Amtryke--a gift that brings more independence and mobility. This morning Arlo and his family joined us and he didn't hesitate to try out his new ride!

Dr. Kailey Thach with Advanced Physical Therapy knew this would be a great fit for Arlo and completed the Amtryke assessment to make sure we had the perfect Amtryke ready for him.

AMBUCS is a national community of volunteers focused on creating adaptive, accessible communities where people can move, participate, and thrive. This morning’s program was Dr. Darryl Nelson, a volunteer pilot with Angel Flight Central. It’s an amazing program that benefits individuals in a 10-state region.

In their general aviation program, those seeking medical treatment or other compassionate and humanitarian purposes may request a free flight under 900 nautical miles. Passengers need to be able to tolerate boarding and riding in a small aircraft. These flights are flown by volunteer pilots with their own time and aircraft.

They typically need 7-10 business days to properly arrange a flight.

If you or someone you love would like to request a flight, you can learn more on their website: https://angelflightcentral.org/passengers/request-a-flight/
