So much of what Huron Hockey is today started with the vision, dedication and generosity of Bruce and Sharon Bergman. We are so grateful for the legacy they built for the Bergman Arena and the lasting impact they’ve had on the Huron All Stars. ❤️🖤
Generosity Is the Goal 🥅
Sharon Bergman of Huron was recently recognized as a Hometown Hero for her significant generosity to the Bruce and Sharon Bergman Legacy Fund.
Because of their sons' interest in the sport, Sharon and her late husband, Bruce, were very involved with the Huron Hockey Association, resulting in decades of service to the Huron community and also at the state level. 🏒
Bruce not only coached many teams, but helped design many aspects of the rink and ice, as well as the state traveling trophies, the "Dakota Cup" and "Verdell Rice."
He was often called the "Ice Man" for his determination to see that the "best ice" in the state was in Huron. Bruce was instrumental in the design of the new home for Huron Hockey in the Community Activities Center, which was named Bergman Arena in his honor in 2002.
