The Human Library HSV

The Human Library HSV Read any good books lately? How about getting to talk to one?! We believe that everyone is has a story and you can learn so much just by having a conversation.

Born in Copenhagen in 2000, the Human LibraryTM is is a worldwide movement designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. Instead of absorbing knowledge from reading words printed on a page, readers at the Human Library will be able to ‘borrow’ individuals for 15 minutes at a time to ask questions, hear their personal storie

s as well as the challenges and stereotypes that they have overcome or face. It's a safe place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered. For Alabamaʼs very first Human Library event, our books will address complex topics such as faith, sexuality and womenʼs rights. The Human Library HSV is a joint community project by AshaKiran, the City of Huntsville Office of Multicultural Affairs, the University of Alabama in Huntsville Office of Diversity and the Huntsville-Madison County Public Libraries to host The Human Library event taking place in Huntsville, AL October 10th 2017!
