USS Wernher von Braun Boldly going as the Huntsville, AL chapter of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association

The USS Wernher von Braun is the Huntsville, AL chapter of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association. Basically, we're a group of Star Trek fans that get together to have fun. While our chapter is focused on Star Trek, we enjoy a wide variety of science-fiction, fantasy, and other genre fandoms. In addition to our monthly meetings, we hold other activities such as picnics, movie viewings, convention trips, mini-golf outings, holiday parties, and more. We have also engaged in community service activities from fund-raising to community service. Participation in our events is purely voluntary as your time permits. However, the more active you are, the more you'll enjoy yourself. While we don't have any local dues, we do ask that you join STARFLEET if you're able. STARFLEET membership options start at $5 a year, and include options for your entire family. You're perfectly welcome to participate in our local activates without joining STARFLEET.

On July 20, 1969, one small step boldly went where no one had gone before. This date is especially significant for us as it's also our NCC #: 72069. This moon landing image showing the USA flag is especially significant due to the United States of America celebrating 250 years as a nation this month. May we, the nation, and all lifeforms live long, and prosper! 🖖

On this date 50 years ago, man made one small step on the moon, and one giant leap for mankind. The date is especially significant for us as it's also our NCC #: 72069. Live long, and prosper! 🌕🖖
