Wreaths for Veterans is a 501 (c) (3) charity organization established in 2007 which has been placing wreaths on veterans’ graves during the December Holiday season at Maple Hill and Valhalla cemeteries for the past 19 years.
Please keep in mind that there are no paid employees in Wreaths for Veterans. All our efforts are accomplished by volunteers and there is no fee charged to the veteran’s families. 100% of all funds go to maintaining, procuring and placing wreaths.
The organization is not associated with Wreaths Across America and does not use live wreaths. Wreaths for Veterans uses artificial wreaths, with red bows and wire stands. The wreaths are reused each year. They are starting to show wear and tear, and many must be replaced. In addition, we have never had enough wreaths to cover all of Maple Hill, therefore, some veterans do not get a wreath. We would like to increase our inventory to be able to place a wreath on every veteran’s grave at Maple Hill.
Due to this and the age of our wreaths, we are starting an effort to raise funds to solve these issues. We will need to replace about 200 wreaths in 2026, and we estimate that we will need another 500 wreaths to cover all of the veterans’ graves at Maple Hill. These expenses will require about $10,000.
Two Men and a Truck Company kindly donates two trucks and drivers to support us, but we may need three trucks if we increase the number of wreaths we place, which may require additional funds.

Wreaths have been placed at Valhalla & Maple Hill cemeteries.
Tuesday, 18 Nov.- 824 were placed at Valhalla by approximately 50 volunteers. We ONLY cover sections Valor 1 & Valor 2. We DO NOT cover the entire Cemetery.

Wednesday,18 Nov.- 2766 were placed at Maple Hill by approximately 300 volunteers.

Did we miss some graves? It is possible. If we missed your loved one this year we sincerely apologize !!!

Our organization tries VERY HARD to cover all veterans; however, we are volunteers doing our best. We are not perfect, but we try hard.

MANY GRAVES IN MAPLE HILL HAVE NO MILITARY DESIGNATION ON THE TOMBSTONE!!! Because of this we have no idea of their military affiliation.
THERE IS NO VETERAN LIST KEPT BY THE CEMETERY OFFICE.

Please feel free to come help next year to make sure your loved one has a wreath.
WE APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY PERSON WHO HELPED PREPARE AND PLACE THE WREATHS.

Wreaths placement at Maple Hill Cemetery is Wednesday,19 Nov at 10 a.m. Please enter Maple Hill Cemetery through the McClung Ave. Entrance.

HELP!!
If you have one hour, one afternoon or 30 minutes, PLEASE come to help with Wreath Preparation at 3015 12th Avenue in Huntsville!!
We will be there on Wednesday,29 October and Thursday, 30 Oct from 9:30-3:30!!
