The 18th Annual Huntsville Obedience Training Club Dog Fair will be September 24, 2022, from 9:00 to 3:00 at Monte Sano State Park. The HOTC Dog Fair provides a wide range of demonstrations and hands-on activities for the public and their canine companions, and gives local shelters and rescue groups the opportunity to showcase their dogs in need of a 'forever' home. Your enthusiasm for the Dog Fair is appreciated! The Dog Fair requires a lot of planning and a lot of volunteers. Unfortunately for this year, the circumstances did not work out for that to happen. We are committed to providing this exceptional event and look forward to providing it in the future.

Our Story

The 17th Annual Huntsville Obedience Training Club Dog Fair will be September 28, 2019, from 9:00 to 3:00 at Monte Sano State Park. This shaded park is the perfect venue for six rings of continuous fun with dogs. Hundreds of prizes will be given away. All activities will be free except for the Microchipping Clinic which offers microchipping at a reduced rate. Monte Sano State Park does charge a parking fee ($10). Demonstrations will be offered in Agility and Rally, followed by opportunities for the public to try these events with the aid of experienced volunteers. Training assistance will be offered in Drop In Anytime Training and Let’s Train Manners session. There will be several Freestyle performances throughout the day, including the popular "Music on the Mountain". K9 Escapades gives everyone a chance to show off their dog in Best Trick, Prettiest, Hansomest, Best Costume, and My Dog Looks Like ____ contests. The Kid Central offers plenty of things to do including Wait, Ask, Greet Safely presentations by Therapy Partners, a Dog Show for Kids, and numerous games. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing will be offered for much of the day. The Microchipping Clinic will also be in operation starting at 9am. Vendors Row offers an assortment of goods and services, ranging from treats, collars, and other material goods, to boarding and private training.
