Here is the SCFJC September 2026 Newsletter!

In this issue we are excited to share the 2026 Scott County Red Sand Project! Thank you to our partners at Scott County Sexual Assault Services at SAI and the Scott County Health Department for all of the hard work they put into collaborating with us on this, and thanks to YOU - our community - for showing up to take a stand against trafficking and exploitation. If you participated in the Red Sand Project, you might recognize some faces scattered throughout the newsletter!

You will also see what else we’ve been up to recently in the community. As always, you can check out our monthly statistics section for details on client services! It is our honor to serve our community. ♥️

The SCFJC (and all other county government offices) will be closed on Monday, September 7, in honor of Labor Day. We will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday morning. Have a wonderful long weekend!

When you live with domestic violence, you experience trauma. That trauma can trigger conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), depression and anxiety. It’s important to understand that these reactions are normal human responses so you can take steps to access the support and healing you need.

As a domestic violence survivor, watch for signs and symptoms of these trauma-related mental health conditions. Keep in mind that these symptoms can overlap.

A normal response to trauma may include dealing with anxiety, depression and flashbacks, but there are ways to heal.
