HCRU recently participated in the NCRC seminar in Mentone, Alabama, a comprehensive training program that spanned a week. Some of our members acted as instructors, while others attended as students. Training of this nature is crucial for the advanced skill set required in our line of work. It not only allows us to develop new skills but also provides opportunities for teamwork and relationship-building with other professionals in the field. The support of our family, friends, teammates, and donors is essential to our operations, and we are grateful for your contributions, which enable our members to receive vital training and respond to calls with expertise.

Your voice is essential in shaping the standards of our profession. The National Registry Board of Directors has proposed updates to the Accepted Education & Documentation Policy (82.07), and we want to hear from you.

These updates are designed to provide more clarity for every Clinician regarding recertification and entry pathways. Key changes include a broader definition of acceptable education, such as courses focused on Clinician safety and well-being, as well as clearer timelines for continuing education.

The comment period remains open until Monday, July 13, 2026.

Today we pause to honor and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. We remember those who never made it home, those who gave all without asking for anything, and for those who now rest beneath pure white stones.
To all our gold star families, we will never forget.
