While we are super disappointed we don’t get to close out the season with one of our favorite events, we totally respect this decision. Stay safe out there this weekend, everyone! Until next time!! 💜💃🙌💜

Due to the threat of severe weather for most of the day Saturday, March 15, the 2025 Huntsville St. Patrick’s Day Parade is canceled. We considered several factors and have been in communication with multiple meteorologists. We believe the risk is too high and the safety of our participants and spectators is of utmost importance. We received several inquiries about rescheduling the parade for Sunday. Unfortunately, we cannot. There are not enough resources and officers available to support a parade on Sunday. This is the first time in 48 years that the parade has been cancelled due to weather, and that is quite amazing for a parade that is always held in mid-March in North Alabama. Please have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Another wonderful Sunday practice in the books for The Violet Femmes Krewe & our canine mascot Teddy! We will be bringing the to the streets of Huntsville with a touch of green next Saturday for the Huntsville St. Patrick's Day Parade at 11 am downtown so plan to join in on the fun! 💜💃🍀🙌🎉💜

These girls don’t just dance together, the ladies from The Violet Femmes Krewe are really good friends in all realms of life! Several members got together to support one of their own who was instructing at a local dance class this morning and they all went to lunch together after as well. The have been flowing strong lately with this group! Love to see the support! 💜💃🙌💜

And…on to the next! The Violet Femmes Krewe gets ready for our next big event, Huntsville St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 15 at 11 am in downtown Huntsville!! The dance committee, parade committee and a few other dedicated members are already planning and the whole krewe can’t wait to bring to St. Patty’s Day! We will have a with a touch of green in the midst of the city’s Irish celebration! See you soon!! 💜🍀💃🙌🎉

As always, we could not do ANY of our events without our amazing support system of volunteers and this Mardi Gras 2025 weekend in the Tennessee Valley was no different!! Friday night at The Camp, Saturday night for the downtown parade and Sunday for the amazingly fun but somewhat logistically difficult paw parade (ever tried to dance/march AND hold a dog leash?? Volunteers are crucial!!) - From our Jeep driver to our sound technician to our photographers and videograghers to our “animal management” team, every volunteer is SO SPECIAL to us!! Some of them arrive thinking they are just there to hang out (because we thought so too!) and wind up with a new assignment by the time they leave, always with a smile on their face and happy to assist. The literally could not happen without each of you- please give some love to our volunteers! 💜🙌⚜️💜

On Sunday, March 2, The Violet Femmes Krewe continued the Mardi Gras party and shared more with the Huntsville community at the 3rd Annual Mardi Gras Paw Parade in MidCity District, ending at The Camp. Our furry canine friends joined us on the route, sporting their own purple attire - because everyone is welcome at our , whether you have two legs or four! This is one of our favorite Mardi Gras events, giving back to the community and being surrounded by adoptable pets as well as fashionable pets and their owners - thanks to all who were a part! 💜💃⚜️🎉💜

Happy Mardi Gras from The Violet Femmes Krewe!!! This past Saturday, March 1, we celebrated the Mardi Gras Huntsville Parade in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. We brought the & the people of the Tennessee Valley did not disappoint, showing up in full force and matching our on the parade route! It was a beautiful day and a great way to celebrate the Carnival season! 💜💃🙌🎉⚜️💜
