I wanted to share this. While this person is giving such a beautiful testimonial for Emily Burnette and the Homeschool Show and Share none of it would be possible without the audience that attends and vendors in sponsors who make it possible. We are not only impacting our city and our families , but the love we have for our community is beginning to grow beyond even our state boundaries.

I still remember talking to her on the phone and being so excited for what she was building. I am so thankful that the leaders over organization saw the fruit of what she put together and recognize the efforts and the growth.

I think it is exciting that with our developing ambassador program created by us at the homeschool show and share with the help of Christal Banks who serves as our ambassador in that area curriculum companies see the value in sending out their materials to let parents view.Even when they cannot be there themselves.

Jamie Cunningham i am so excited to see what is happening and maybe one here, our our events will not fall on the same date and I will be able to attend yours.

"I had the pleasure of being connected with Emily Burnette a year ago in August of 2025 as I began planning a homeschool Expo in my area. During our first conversation, I began to understand the gold mine I had found. Emily graciously shared her years of wisdom and insight as I began thinking through the planning of my event. I had one idea of the way it should go but after speaking with her, my direction changed as I started pouring over and studying her years of experience. In addition, she shared an idea for a different event that to date, is one of the most successful events our organization has ever hosted. She was more than willing to help me in any way that she could- even offering to possibly make the drive and attend my event. As I would plan, she would take the time to offer feedback- always in a positive, encouraging way. She is authentic and real. There were several instances when she made time to talk to me when her busy life was going on in the background. I never sensed that she was territorial in her ideas. Rather, she graciously took the time to allow me to talk ideas out and brainstorm with me. Because of the success of the two events I coordinated with the help of Emily, my organization has since created a new position for me, specifically for building upon the momentum we’ve built through the 2 events she helped me plan. Words cannot express my gratitude for Emily- her time, her ideas, and her encouragement. Emily’s reach has gone far beyond her community. I am so thankful to have been connected with her!"

🇺🇸 American Village Homeschool Days & High School Field Trip

American Village has selected its Homeschool Day dates for the 2026–2027 school year:
📅 September 28, 2026
📅 October 20, 2026
📅 January 20, 2027
📅 March 23, 2027

September will include a variety of programming, while October will be geared more toward younger students, with Thanksgiving as the core timed program. January may be the best Homeschool Day for older students.

American Village also offers wonderful field trips tailored to individual groups. We will be scheduling a separate high school field trip for our students to participate in the Independence Program.

If your high school student has never had the opportunity to experience this program, we would love for them to join us! Emma has not had the opportunity to participate either, so I want to create this experience for her and other high school students in our community.

Please save the Homeschool Day dates, and watch for more information about our high school Independence Program field trip! 🇺🇸

🌱 Homeschool Families—This Is a Wonderful Opportunity! 🌱

The Huntsville Botanical Garden is hosting Grow & Gather: An Educator’s Day of Discovery Symposium on Saturday, September 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Although this event offers professional-development credit for area educators, homeschool educators also have an opportunity to participate and bring what they learn back into our homes, homeschool communities, and families.

I recently experienced a small taste of the Cultivate program during a STEM Night, and I had so much fun! I went into it with the curiosity of a child—asking lots of questions and trying all the hands-on activities—because I truly wanted to see what they had to offer.

Now I am so excited to spend an entire day learning alongside other educators and discovering even more ideas, resources, and experiences that we can use with our children.

The symposium is designed for educators teaching PreK through eighth grade and includes:

🌿 Hands-on Cultivate sessions
🌿 A guided Garden tour
🌿 STEM and literacy activities
🌿 Nature journaling
🌿 School-garden ideas
🌿 Virtual-reality dissection
🌿 Community STEM partners
🌿 A choice of educational field trips

There is also a symposium scholarship that provides a promo code for 90% off registration. Be sure to complete the scholarship step before registering for your grade-level session.

Please visit the Botanical Garden’s page for all the details, scholarship information, and registration links:

If you decide to attend, please let me know! I would love for us to look out for one another and enjoy this wonderful day of learning together. 💜🧡💚

🌈 Have you discovered Rainbow Resource Center yet?

Many of you are already familiar with Rainbow Resource Center, but if you aren't, I highly recommend taking some time to explore everything they offer.

Whether you're looking to build a home library, find engaging educational resources, discover hands-on manipulatives, or locate quality curriculum, they have something for nearly every homeschooling family.

One of the things I appreciate most is how thoughtfully they organize their catalogs. They offer both a comprehensive curriculum catalog and an enrichment/resource catalog, making it much easier to compare options and find what best fits your family's needs.

Rather than simply listing products, they help you understand:
📚 Who a resource is best suited for
🎯 The educational goals it supports
✝️ Whether it is Christian, neutral, or secular
✏️ Whether it is consumable or non-consumable 🧩 Which learning styles it may best support—visual, auditory, kinesthetic, tactile, and more

As someone who spends a lot of time researching curriculum and helping homeschool families find resources that fit their unique children, I truly appreciate companies that provide clear, thoughtful information to help parents make confident decisions.

Have you used Rainbow Resource Center before?
I'd love to hear: 💜 What's your favorite curriculum or educational resource you've found through them? 💜 Is there something you've been wanting to try?

Let's help one another discover some homeschool treasures!
