As new SNAP work requirements take effect and policies continue to change, many individuals and families are facing increased uncertainty when trying to access or maintain essential benefits. For those already navigating financial hardship, these changes can make an already complex process even more difficult.

At HWCLI, we understand how overwhelming these challenges can be. Our SNAP team works every day to help people understand new requirements, resolve issues, and maintain access to the food assistance they depend on. In a time when many feel uncertain or alone, having trusted support can make all the difference.

Every older adult deserves to live with dignity, respect, and the support they need to thrive.

On World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ( ), we recognize that preventing abuse starts with building strong communities and ensuring older adults have access to trusted resources, benefits, healthcare, and social supports.

At HWCLI, our programs help connect older Long Islanders to critical services, advocate for their needs, and strengthen the safety net that helps older adults remain healthy, independent, and protected. Together, we can create a community where every older adult is valued, supported, and safe.

💙 💙

At HWCLI, we believe that investing in people creates lasting change, and Maritza's story is a powerful example of that impact.

More than 20 years ago, as an immigrant woman and single mother beginning her career, Maritza was given an opportunity through HWCLI that helped shape her professional journey and strengthen her connection to the community. The support, guidance, and confidence she received during that chapter of her life left a lasting impression.

Today, Maritza serves as a Community Liaison for a large school district and continues to partner with HWCLI, confidently referring families and individuals to our programs and services knowing they will be treated with respect, compassion, and professionalism.

We are honored to have been part of Maritza's journey and grateful for her continued partnership. Stories like hers remind us that when we invest in people, the impact extends far beyond a single moment, it strengthens entire communities.

Thank you, Maritza, for your kind words and for all you do to support Long Island families!
