Is Constipation contributing to your health issues?

Few people want to talk about severe constipation or even think about it. Despite this it can contribute to many different types of hernia, including inguinal. Stress within your intestines combined with bodily stress has an impact which doubles the speed at which a tear develops. It can also worsen the tear if you do not have it treated quickly and continue to suffer. Constipation is not something that anyone should be embarrassed about on a basic level.

We all have it here and there and it does not cause much of a problem. However when you have chronic problems with this you should get checked out because it could lead to further problems with your health. Inguinal hernias and many other varieties also happen with this because the area of the body which is getting all the stress is the same one that contains your digestive system. You obviously need this in order to live a proper life so it’s very important to deal with it. After all, no one wants to be in the restroom for a long time anyway.

The good news is that you have a huge number of different options when treating this. From drugs to surgeries you can expect to easily work it out. As you might expect the downside to this is you will likely have to spend more money on treatment unless you have really good health insurance and can have it paid for with that. Make sure you get the best care possible.

Can an Inguinal Hernia cause Gangrene?

Gangrene is not something you normally consider with an inguinal hernia, but it is something that can actually happen if you are not careful. This only happens in cases where the person has problems for several days without being able to seek treatment. At this point the damage is severe and you will likely have lifelong problems so it is something to consider. Avoiding this is easy though.

So when would you actually have a problem with this? Only in a very extreme circumstance where you could not seek medical attention over the course of 2-3 days. You practically never see this happen in normal life, but could see it in emergency cases. For example, this can happen during plane crashes where the infection spreads to more than just a person’s arms and legs.

We do not hear about this relating to inguinal hernia, very often because it is much rarer than many of the other conditions that come with it. However, it can happen in everyday life if someone continues working and living normally even when they are in severe pain. A part of your intestines can actually die in this case and you could even die due to this as well.

Gangrene can also come about due to an infection after surgery if it was badly botched. Fortunately, this also comes up very rarely and you should experience a lot of discomfort which tips you off to the problem before any real damage is done to your internal organs.

High Success Rates and Inguinal Hernia

Many sites talk about the high success rate for treatment and it is true. So what does this mean for you and your personal inguinal hernia? There are a few things to consider when deciding on whether to receive treatment, including the chance that you could be in the small minority that have something go wrong.

One thing you should keep in mind is if you have decent doctors nearby, then you should go see them as soon as you can. Only by doing this, can you avoid serious problems later on and the chances of anything going wrong are so small that it is extremely unlikely.

So around 5% of the cases around the world have something go badly wrong. In these cases a smaller number dies, and a few people have gastrointestinal problems for the rest of their life. In either case there is little you can do about it, with the exception of more surgery.

Doctors should also have statistics on their own success in inguinal hernia surgery. You should ask about these, but make sure that everything adds up. Some physicians will just say that they have a great success rate and simply pulled that number out of thin air. It is an unfortunate thing to consider, but one you have to keep in mind. If they have no numbers on this at all then that is a red flag for you when seeking treatment. Try to avoid a doctor who does that because they likely have something to hide.

Are you considering buying one of those hernia belts? Think again..

Markets are filled with items that promise to solve your inguinal hernia so we are going to look at one of them today; the Hernia Belt. Many different businesses try to sell you on the idea that it is the best solution for any problem such as this. Unfortunately, that is often not the case for many reasons.
When buying one of these you want one that does not apply additional pressure to the groin area. This is because some of them can actually make the problem worse because of that. It needs to lift upwards and relieve the pressure briefly. If you find one like this then it can actually temporarily alleviate some of the pain which you may be experiencing.
Despite what some people will tell you this is never a permanent solution. It will not heal by itself and a belt will just drag things out for a bit. It is never something you can use over a long period. So if you are using one of these understand what they are for, temporary relief.
Unfortunately, some of these belts can actually damage your internal organs if they are putting pressure on the location of the hernia. A few really bad models actually push your intestines down and cause much more damage than ever before. This is because many of them are not designed by actual doctors and are just put out to make money.
As always surgery is the only permanent solution which can cut out the discomfort. Do not put too much faith in a belt.
