💜 New to disability resources? You’re invited to AHEAD Start.

Beginning a career in disability resources comes with a lot to learn, and you don’t have to learn it all on your own.

AHEAD Start: An Introduction to Access for Newer Disability Resource Professionals is a three-week virtual Academy where newer professionals can build foundational knowledge, ask questions, explore real-world practice, and connect with colleagues who are learning alongside them.

You’ll explore everything from disability rights and accommodation decision-making to campus collaboration and caring for yourself as a professional.

Even better, registration includes AHEAD membership through the end of 2026 and the opportunity to join a small mentoring group for up to a year, so the support can continue long after the Academy ends.

Join us October 6, 8, 13, 15, 20 & 22!

What an incredible week at AHEAD 2026! 💙

Thanks to the generosity of our members and attendees, The AHEAD Giveback (TAG) raised $7,000 for Providence nonprofit Amos House (https://amoshouse.com). A special thank you to Chris Stone and Michael Southern for organizing this meaningful effort.

The Exhibit Hall has been buzzing with energy, and there's still one more full day to go! Friday features four blocks of concurrent sessions, Poster Sessions, and the REDD KPC meeting during lunch.

A heartfelt thank you to our outstanding access services teams for providing exceptional sign language interpreting, captioning, and blind orientation services throughout the conference. Your dedication makes AHEAD more accessible for everyone.

We're also grateful to our conference sponsors: Genio, Otter.ai, ReadSpeaker, Phonak, HRI-Cart, Classroom Captioning, Accessible Information Management, Trula, Jamworks, Symplicity, CareScribe, OrchestrateAMS, CivicPlus, untapped, and Everway. Thank you for your partnership and support.

What a fantastic start to the AHEAD 2026 Annual Conference! 🎉

It was wonderful to welcome so many new faces at the First-Time Attendee Breakfast. We were also honored to hear Paul Grossman deliver an inspiring keynote, "Sustaining the Disability Rights Movement: How We Made it This Far and What We Must Do to Keep it Strong."

A big thank you to our Overall Conference and Lanyard Sponsor, Genio (https://genio.co)! Be sure to stop by Booths 110–116 in the Exhibit Hall to learn more about their note taking and presentation tools.

We wrapped up the day with an incredible turnout for Drag Bingo & Trivia (Happy Disability Pride Month!), co-sponsored by the DISC and LGBTQA KPCs. Thank you to everyone who joined the fun and helped make it such a memorable evening!

Tomorrow brings another full day of learning and connection, including the Poster Sessions (8:30–10 am), the Field Trip to the Rhode Island State Capitol with Joanne Simon (1:15–3:30 pm), and the Celebration Reception (5:30–7 pm). We can't wait to see you there!
