Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat running for governor, will not appear in a televised pre-primary debate this week.

The Democratic debate, hosted by Fox 2 (WJBK-TV) in Detroit, was planned for Thursday, June 4.

Now, the station will pivot to interviewing Benson’s lone opponent, Democrat and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, with a studio audience.

🚨Breaking: Attorney Mike Davis has filed a formal CRIMINAL REFERRAL to the DOJ and Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon demanding full investigations into the alleged mistreatment and civil rights violations against Tina Peters during her imprisonment in Colorado.

Now that Peters has been released, Davis is pushing for accountability against those responsible — including Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, AG Phil Weiser, prosecutors, and the judge who oversaw her case.

"The evidence is clear: Colorado government officials conspired to severely, unconstitutionally, and criminally punish Tina Peters because of her First Amendment-protected views on election integrity."
