How much can change in just a few months when you have a determined team? A LOT can change! The Before and After for the HAHS Museum makes the building look like new again. The change inside is amazing too. From and old, empty former bank to a space where stories are told with every item and picture.
Come see what we have to offer this Saturday from 10am-2pm and Sunday 12-3pm. No charge for admission, but we're grateful for donations to support our efforts.

The HAHS Museum is open today, October 7, from 2-6pm. We had an amazing weekend and the museum was busy both days. Stop by today at 146 Spring Street to see the array of photos, items and information that capture our collective history.

There's no admission cost. Donations are appreciated. Memberships are for sale, along with a limited number of shirts and stickers.

Pausing to reflect this morning on the amazing Grand Opening Weekend. Deepest thanks to all who helped make the HAHS Museum possible and to all those who attended.

We're open limited hours through October. Come see us Wednesdays 2-6pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm and Sundays 12-3pm. Without the crowd from this past weekend, you'll be able to take your time to enjoy the photos, items and articles on display.

HOUTZDALE — The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was held this past weekend for the Houtzdale Area Historical Society Museum, located at 146 Spring St., Houtzdale.

The kids coloring sheets were a hit! We received over 160 creatively colored logos for display. They're displayed on the lower windows across the building. Our thanks to Hiller Family Memorial Library - Houtzdale, PA and Moshannon Valley School District for their help in this fun effort!
It's not too late to add more to the collection. Either print one to color at home, or stop by for a fun coloring experience while you check out the Museum. We're open in October on Wednesdays 2-6pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm and Sundays 12-3pm. Double check on this page to ensure we have volunteers to cover those times.

Did you miss our Grand Opening Weekend? While it was exciting, you can still visit the Museum during October. We'll be open for limited hours on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays through the end of the month.
Be sure to check here to make sure we're open, as this is a volunteer organization where things are not always guaranteed.
If you're a member and want to help in the Museum when we're open, please message or email us to get on the schedule.

The door prize donated by Moshannon Valley Floral, Gift and Tuxedo Shop was won by Rick Bush! Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone who was part of this busy and exciting weekend. We witnessed so many reunions and sharing of family stories.

October is here, so we're updating to our 2027 membership form. Lifetime memberships bought in the calendar year of 2026 will still become Founding Members of Houtzdale Area Historical Society.

If you're not interested in a lifetime membership, consider a yearly membership. All new memberships bought in Oct-Dec of 2026 get those months free and then are members for all of 2027. It's a good deal and helps benefit the HAHS Museum.

Come see us until 5pm today. Or visit us Wednesdays 2-6pm, Saturdays 10am - 2 pm and Sundays 12-3pm during October. If you can't stop by the Museum, please DM or email us [email protected]
