"The funeral of my past took place years ago."
When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, the old me was buried. My sins were forgiven, my life was made new, and my identity was found in Christ.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
Nobody can hold me hostage to what God has already forgiven.
Nobody can define me by what Christ has redeemed.
Nobody can keep alive what God has declared dead.
The funeral of my past took place years ago, and I refuse to exhume what God has buried. I walk in grace, freedom, forgiveness, and the new life Christ has given me.
Today, I choose to move forward not looking back at who I was, but pressing toward who God has called me to be.
My past is buried. My future is alive in Christ.
