Today, I honor my son, Nashibo “BJ” Marki Taylor, by stepping into a calling bigger than my pain, bigger than my grief, and bigger than the moment that changed our lives forever.
I am proud to announce the launch of:
✨ BJ’s Track of Hope ✨
A foundation built on love, purpose, and the belief that every young person deserves guidance, direction, and hope.
BJ was fast — on the track and in life.
He loved honey buns, made me breakfast every Mother’s Day, and had a heart that touched everyone around him. On June 5th, 2021 my 17-year-old son lost his life to gun violence, passing in the arms of his best friend. I made a promise that his story would never end there.
BJ’s Track of Hope will:
Empower youth through mentorship and positive decision-making
Bring violence-prevention programs to schools
Provide track-based scholarships in BJ’s name
Support families affected by youth violence
Spread healing, unity, and purpose — the things BJ stood for
This foundation is not just a tribute.
It is movement.
It is healing.
It is my son’s legacy carried forward with strength.
My mission is simple:
To make sure no parent feels what I feel… and no child loses their life before discovering their purpose.
To everyone who supported us, prayed for us, or loved BJ — thank you.
This is for him.
This is for the youth.
And this is just the beginning.
Welcome to BJ’s Track of Hope.
Where every step leads toward purpose.
Where every run leads toward hope.
💙🏅🕊️
