THIS BLACK THEATRE DAY, CELEBRATE BLACK THEATRE BY GIVING A GIFT! 🎁 🎭

On September 17, 1821, the African Grove Theatre opened its first season in New York City, becoming the first known professional Black theatre company in the United States.

For 12 seasons, The Sankofa Collective aka The Bayou Theatre Company, has worked to create a home where Black artists can be bold, take risks, reimagine classics, tell new stories, and see ourselves fully onstage. Help us make Black Theatre happy by giving $12 for 12 seasons!

From the African Grove Theatre in 1821 to The Sankofa Collective in Houston today — the work continues.🎭🖤
