Life Skills House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization, addresses the issue of generational poverty. Our focus is on multicultural young women, including but not limited to, those who were victims of human trafficking, those who are pregnant and single mothers from economically challenged backgrounds. Statistics show that 80% of young single moms rely on government assistance to sustain
their households. Furthermore, recent studies show that it cost the government $330 billion a year to provide welfare services to single-parent families. On average per year, that amounts to $30,000 per household. We are committed to helping these young single women and kids transition from surviving to thriving and redirecting the life course of two generations at once. We offer 6 week biblical-based financial coaching sessions, specifically designed to help participants discover the beautiful love story God pre-scripted in heaven, before a single day came to be, which showcases their unique gifts, talents and assignment on earth (Ps. 139:14-16). It is geared to exemplify the importance of surrendering to His Lordship at the beginning of each day so that their page for the day will be a mirror image of His pre-scripted plan. Once participants embrace their God-given purpose for existence, they will be better able to understand the purpose of money. They will also better understand the level of financial status that has been assigned to their lives, as God funds our needs to carry out that assignment (Matt. 6:33), as opposed to funding a desired lifestyle.
