On September 7, 2001, Nancy Owens, a much loved and well-respected icon in the real estate industry, lost her courageous 20-year battle with breast cancer.

The Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation is organized to fund one or more qualified public charities that supports education, care and research to find a cure for breast cancer. One of Nancy's final wishes, if she had survived her battle with cancer, was to dedicate a large part of her life to the fight against breast cancer and the continued advancement of its research towards finding a cure. It is that very dream that lives on today, and from which the Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation was created. The Foundation is proud to have received the Susan G. Komen Hope Award for Ambassadorship as well as the Houston Association of REALTORS® John E. Wolf Citizenship Cup Award for our continued commitment to supporting breast cancer research while creating a theme of “REALTORS® Making A Difference” in the fight against breast cancer. The Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation is organized primarily to fund one or more qualified public charities that support education, care and research for breast cancer and has received its 501(c)(3) determination from the IRS.

We are incredibly honored to share that, for the second year in a row, the Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation has been recognized with the Better Business Bureau's Award of Distinction in the Non-Profit category.

Receiving this recognition once is an honor—receiving it two years in a row is truly humbling. We are grateful to the BBB for this distinction and to our dedicated volunteers, supporters, sponsors, donors, and community partners who make our mission possible every day.

Together, we continue working toward one goal: funding innovative breast cancer research and bringing hope to those impacted by this disease. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Always Remember. Never Forget.

Those words carry a special meaning for all of us at the Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation.

Twenty-five years ago, as our nation watched in horror and heartbreak following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, we were also mourning the loss of our dear friend, Nancy Owens. After a courageous 20-year battle with breast cancer, Nancy passed away on September 7, 2001.

Her memorial service was held at St. Martin's Episcopal Church on September 11, 2001. Despite the uncertainty, fear, and grief that gripped our country that day, the church was filled with family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones who came together to celebrate Nancy's life. The tragic events unfolding around us made the loss of such a remarkable woman even more profound.

Nancy's courage, faith, perseverance, and unwavering spirit touched countless lives. While the world remembers a day that changed our nation forever, we also remember a woman whose legacy continues to inspire our mission to fund breast cancer research and bring hope to future generations.

Today, we pause to honor both memories.

Always remember. Never forget. 💗

Today marks 25 years since we lost Nancy Owens, a remarkable woman whose courage, faith, and determination continue to inspire us every day.

Nancy bravely faced three battles with breast cancer over a 20-year period, never allowing the disease to define her. A successful Houston Realtor, business owner, devoted wife, passionate advocate, world traveler, and lover of the country life, Nancy lived each day with purpose, grace, and an unmistakable sparkle in her eyes.

Those who knew Nancy remember her infectious smile, quick wit, generous spirit, and unwavering perseverance. Even as she faced life's greatest challenges, she taught everyone around her invaluable lessons about strength, resilience, and hope.

On September 7, 2001, Nancy's battle with breast cancer came to an end, but her legacy was only beginning. Through the Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation, her memory lives on as we continue the fight she fought so bravely—funding innovative breast cancer research and working toward a future where no one loses a loved one to this disease.

Today, we remember Nancy. We celebrate her life. And we honor her legacy by continuing the work she inspired.
