Star Wars Enthusiasts of Houston takes pride in being an inclusive and diverse Fan Group Community here in the nation's 4th largest city – Houston, Texas. We were established in 2013 and we welcome all fans! Our SWEH Fan Group hosts year-round activities and fosters a positive, sup

portive fan community by:

• Organizing Fan Gatherings & meetups
• Supporting Charitable Causes (Our semiannual Hunger Relief Food Drives, the Star Wars Reads Youth Literacy campaign, the Challenge Air for Kids program, our Initiatives)
• Hosting Cosplay Events, fun Photo Shoots & Fan Booths at local conventions
• Leading Saber Walks with Lightsabers at various events year-round
• Creating an inclusive Fan Community for all ages and all levels of Star Wars fandom in our region
• Collaborating and joining forces with other groups and fandoms when possible
• Celebrating Star Wars Fandom and our love of the entire Star Wars genre

(We also support the work of our friends in the other Houston region groups like the Rebel Legion, Mando Mercs, the 501st, Droid Builders and the Imperial Outlanders to name a few. We continue to stand strong for equality. We honor our diverse communities of color. Star Wars Enthusiasts of Houston Fan Group will always stand with you -- not only on , but every day. !

The continued real-world struggles for from oppression, , , and for all remain relevant and as important today as they have been for centuries. The storytelling of the Star Wars galaxy in many ways mirrors the real-life struggles of humanity throughout history, both past and present. must be remembered so we can create a better future.

Join Star Wars Enthusiasts of Houston Fan Group for our next ! 🎲 This fun and friendly meetup for JUNE will be at The Forge Hobbies & Games on SUNDAY, June 2️⃣8️⃣ from 4-8 PM.

Our Game Night will feature a variety of board games, card games, lightsabers, and a table. We often have a traditional fun game of "Star Wars FamilyFeud" (inspired by the famous game show). Feel free to bring your favorite to play or try one from our stash. 🎲 Learn to play a variety of Sabacc versions from our friends with The Lost Hand Cantina.

Cosplay is optional but certainly adds to the fun. This month's theme is "Gratitude For Grogu," so we'll be celebrating all things and the latest movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu. 🌌 Feel free to wear your favorite or in-galaxy gear. (Jedi, Sith, scoundrels, smugglers, and scavengers attire are always welcome, too 😉). You can also wear your favorite or anything green for Grogu. Plenty of table space is always available for socializing. Bring your Grogu along, too!

This event will feature a themed Grogu appreciation Dinner, so please bring your favorite inspired foods from the series and the movie. The suggested menu includes entrées, desserts (blue macarons!), green drinks, and side dishes to share with everyone "Family-style." 🍝🥧🍪🍕🥗 The Forge sells drinks, so please support them with your drink purchase. Also, be sure to check out their awesome Star Wars games & hobby supplies while at The Forge!

➡️ NOTE: The Forge is now at their brand new building at 15121 Memorial Drive. Parking is available in front and behind the building. ⬅️

🟢 May is very popular for movie releases! On May 25, 1983, : Episode VI – was released in theaters! Do you remember where you first saw it and with whom? Do you have a favorite character or favorite scene from this Original Trilogy episode? Were you surprised by the ultimate familial-siblings reveal? 🟢

Little did we know that at the time, more StarWarsMovies would eventually be made to continue the amazing storytelling of the Skywalker saga. The fandom continues to grow, and movies continue to this day.

Very sad news this week, as we learned of the passing of . Marcia was a trailblazer in Hollywood, lighting the way for generations of females in the industry. She was an Oscar award-winning editor and worked on all three of the original trilogy films.
