World Cancer Day — Help Fill Chemo Care Bags for Patients

Dear Kena’s Krew Foundation Supporter,

Today, on World Cancer Day, we’re launching a special drive to assemble comfort care bags for local chemotherapy patients — and we need your help.

We’re collecting donated items that bring practical comfort and encouragement during treatment. Please consider donating any of the following (new and unopened items only):

Suggested items for chemo care bags

Cozy socks (non-slip, warm)
Soft blankets or lap throws (small)
Lip balm / petroleum jelly (unscented)
Sugar-free mints, hard candies, or ginger candies (for nausea)
Hydration: bottled water, electrolyte packets, herbal teas (ginger, peppermint)
Travel mugs or insulated water bottles
Gentle, fragrance-free hand lotion and unscented wipes
Soft hats, beanies, or headscarves
Disposable warm/cool packs
Gentle toothbrushes and alcohol-free mouthwash
Hand sanitizer (travel size)
Tissues (pocket packs)
Phone chargers or portable power banks (small)
Fuzzy slippers or slipper socks (non-slip)
Cozy eye masks and earplugs
Puzzle books, adult coloring books, crayons/colored pencils, or small journals & pens
Comfort snacks (protein bars, crackers — low-sugar options)
Inspirational notes /cards or small devotional booklets
Gas/ride-share gift cards, grocery or coffee gift cards (any denomination)
Reusable tote bags or zipper pouches to hold items


Donation Details

Drop-off location: K One Salon, 11980 Westheimer Rd #6680, Houston, TX 77077
Collection period: Now through February 28
Hours: 8am-7pm or contact us to arrange a pickup for large donations.
How your gift helps Each donated item brings comfort, dignity, and practical support to someone navigating cancer treatment. Together, we’ll assemble care bags that remind patients they are seen, loved, and supported by their community.
