Meet Maxx (A2083781)! πŸΎπŸ’œ

Maxx is the kind of dog who’s happiest when he’s part of the action. Whether he’s playing with his four-legged friends, hanging out with his people, or simply enjoying some quality family time, this sweet boy is always ready to be your sidekick.

He has a fun, playful personality without being overly energetic, and he already has some great home skills! Maxx is crate-trained, does well in the house with regular potty breaks, and enjoys spending time with people, kids, and other dogs.

All he’s missing is a family to share his adventures with. Could Maxx be your new best friend? πŸ₯°

🐾 Denver Area Animal Rescues & Non-Profits β€” We Want to Help! 🐾
The SCARF Project is on a mission to raise $10,000 for animals in need, and we're looking for 30 amazing dogs to help us make it happen.
Here's where your organization comes in.
Every participant in the project will have the opportunity to nominate a rescue or animal-focused non-profit they would like to support. At the end of the nomination period, one organization will be selected to receive the proceeds from the 2027 SCARF Calendar Contest fundraiser.
We would love for you to share this opportunity with your adopters, supporters, volunteers, and followers. The more families who participate, the greater impact we can make together for animals in need throughout our community.
This project is about more than portraits. It's about bringing dog lovers together, celebrating the incredible dogs who enrich our lives, and creating real change for animals still waiting for their second chance.
If you're a Denver-area rescue or animal organization, tell us about your mission in the comments, and feel free to share this post with your community.
Together, we can celebrate dogs, build a stronger community, and change lives.

To start your Sunday morning πŸ™

A priest in Brazil has turned his church into a place of hope not only for people, but also for homeless dogs searching for families.

Father JoΓ£o Paulo Araujo Gomes leads the Santana parish in GravatΓ‘, Brazil. Over the years, he has dedicated himself to helping dogs in his community that have been abandoned or left to survive on the streets.

His approach is both simple and heartwarming.

Father Gomes rescues stray dogs and brings them to the church. After a veterinarian confirms that a dog is healthy enough, he introduces the animal during Mass, giving people in the congregation an opportunity to meet it.

The hope is that someone attending the service will form a connection with the dog and decide to give it a permanent home.

But his efforts don't end at the church doors.

With assistance from volunteers, Father Gomes has also taken homeless dogs into his own house. When an animal is seriously sick and needs extra attention, he helps care for and nurse the dog himself.

He has also made sure dogs still living on the streets have somewhere to find food and clean water. Feeders are placed outside the church so animals passing through the area can eat and drink when they need to.

And for dogs simply looking for somewhere peaceful and protected to sleep, the church itself offers shelter.

Its doors remain open to dogs needing a safe place to rest.

Through rescuing strays, caring for sick animals and introducing adoptable dogs to families during Mass, Father Gomes has spent years giving forgotten dogs in his community another chance at finding the homes they deserve.

It's official!
Chloe has a loving home of her own.
Brandi and Nic Kincaid took Chloe on August 8th as a
"foster to adopt" in Norman Oklahoma.
After just two days S.A.F.E.HAVEN (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) was contacted and was told, " let's make it official " Chloe completes our family.
I flew to Oklahoma City yesterday and the adoption papers were signed.
A kitten who had 1% chance of living, has 100% the best home ever.
Happy Tail sweet Chloe.
Everyone who was part of your journey has been blessed.
Please donate and support our cause for other abused, neglected, abandoned homeless pets in need. Donation options in comments.
